Allen J. Solomon, MD

Allen Solomon, MD is director of the Coronary Care Unit, a professor of Medicine and vice chair of the Institutional Review Board at The George Washington University Medical Center. He specializes in arrhythmia service and cardiovascular care.

Certified in clinical cardiac electrophysiology, cardiovascular diseases and internal medicine, Dr. Solomon received his bachelors of science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Maryland at College Park. He earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland at Baltimore and completed an internship and residency at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore. At Georgetown University Medical Center, Dr. Solomon completed fellowships in cardiovascular diseases and clinical cardiac electrophysiology.

Dr. Solomon has been honored with several distinctions, including the Cardiology Fellows Teaching Award and the Lawrence H. Kyle Award for Excellence in Housestaff Education. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association Council on Clinical Cardiology and the North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology.

Articles written by Dr. Solomon appear in several peer-reviewed publications, including the American Heart Journal and the Annals of Internal Medicine.
