The Understein Memorial Lecture Fund was established in 1976 by the family of Jack Understein, upon his death, in gratitude for the care provided at The George Washington University Hospital and his physician, Dr Alan Ross, then-chair of the Division of Cardiology.

The Institute is pleased to name Andrew E. Epstein, MD the 2007 Understein Lecturer. Dr Epstein is Professor of Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Disease, at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Click here to see his bio.
