Mary Cheney joins the Cheney Cardiovascular Institute Board of Directors

WASHINGTON, DC – The Cheney Cardiovascular Institute today announced that Mary Cheney has joined the Institute’s Board of Directors. As a director, she will help to form the strategic direction for the Institute.
“We are delighted to have Mary Cheney join the Cheney Cardiovascular Institute Board and appreciate having a member of the Cheney family actively involved in shaping the major initiatives of the Institute. Ms. Cheney brings political savvy and excellent communications experience that will help us shape the Institute’s messages in reaching our target audience to support research, education and community outreach initiatives,” said Dr. Richard J. Katz, Director of the Institute and Director of the Division of Cardiology.
Mary Cheney is a Vice President of Navigators LLC, a strategic communications and political consulting firm based in Washington D.C. A veteran corporate and political advisor, Ms. Cheney has more than 15 years of political, corporate, public affairs, and strategic communications experience. In 2006, Newsweek magazine profiled Ms. Cheney as one of the next generation of women leaders.
Ms. Cheney joined Navigators from AOL, LLC where she served as chief of staff to AOL’s vice chairman and as the vice president of standards and practices. Before joining AOL, Ms. Cheney served as a senior campaign aide in both the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections.
